  • Michigan Autism Safety Training Offered

    The Austism Alliance of Barry County is offering a safety training program for those that are affected by autism. The date is Wednesday, April 26. This could include educators, social workers, health care workers, foster care parents, or community members. The information is available HERE.

  • Elementary Spring Musicals!

    Come join us for our Elementary Spring Musicals! Star, Northeastern, Central and Southeastern Elementary Schools will feature their 1st through 4th grade students. This year's shows have 1st and 2nd grades performing "Lights, Camera Action!" and 3rd and 4th grades performing "Disney: The Movies, the Music." All shows will be at Central Auditorium @ 6:30 p.m. Students report at 6:15 to the Central gym for the following dates:

  • Saxon Bands Announce Mattress Fundraiser

    Hastings High School will be hosting a fundraiser for the Saxon Band program. A wide variety of mattresses and pillows will be available at this sale with up 50% off retail prices. Check out the arts homepage for more details.

    Northeastern Elementary School invites the community to join us for an evening in the city featuring an array of art created and performed by Northeastern students. This event is sure to be a magical night on the town. Check out the NE homepage for details.

  • Hastings Partners with Barry Career Access Network

    Hastings Area SchoolSystem is a member of Barry Career Access Networkknown as BCAN! Our efforts are directed toward increasing the percentage of greater Barry County residents with post-high school certificates or degrees to 60% by the year 2025. 

    BCAN!, which is part of the Michigan College Access Network system, is more than a college access network for young people in Barry County. It is an effort to help people find their passion and success in careers that are high in skill, demand, and rewards

  • Matching Funds for Kickstart to Career
    Visit www.classy.org/kickstartforhas to learn more about a 5 day fund matching opportunity for students in Hastings. Every dollar donated to the Hastings KickStart Fund, a national funding agency, the 1:1 Fund, will match it dollar for dollar up to $500 per donor! This is a 5 day campaign for matching funds running from Monday, September 12th through Friday, September 16th. Even if you choose not to donate, PLEASE watch the video, as Barry Community Foundation will receive a $1000 bonus for the most views from the 1:1 Fund to be placed in the Richard and Merilyn Foster Memorial KickStart Match Fund for ALL Barry County students.   • New Donation Opportunities Announced

    Hastings Area School System receives many donations from generous community members near and far. Our District Accountability Committee (DAC) recommended an easier process through our website. Check out this new homepage for information on the existing Hastings Educational Enrichment Foundation (HEEF) as well as the newly established direct giving program.

    Hastings Area School District is now taking facility requests online through our CommunityUse calendar and request system. You can enroll online and enter requests for after-hours facility usage by following the simple steps outlined in these 2 documents.

  • Substitute Teachers & Bus Drivers Needed!

    Hastings Area Schools are in need of both substitute teachers and bus drivers! If you are interested in substitute teaching, please visit www.edustaff.org for application materials.   • Parents of Puzzles Meeting
    Where: Barry Community Enrichment Center, 231 South Broadway, Hastings.
    When: 4th Tuesday of the month, 6:00 to 7:00, Child care provided
    Meeting will be informational and have a social.
    We are an association of parents, and others who actively seek to support meaningful participation in all aspects of life for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and their families in Barry County.
