Would you like to help Northeastern raise money? The PaperGator® is a unique fundraiser where Northeastern Elementary is paid to collect paper products and place them in a bin for recycling.

What do you have to do to be involved?

Simply send in the items listed below with your child so that he/she can put them in their classroom collection bin or bring them in yourself and deposit them into the PaperGator® which is located on the East side of the building.

· Newsprint

· Catalogs/Magazines

· Junk Mail

· Phone Books

· Office/School paper

· Hard and soft cover books

Also, please take time to check out the link on the left column of this web page titled "Grade Level Content Expectations." This is a link to the Michigan Department of Education's website that will give you, by grade-level, the Grade-Level Content Expectations that students are expected to master by the end of each grade-level. All schools in Michigan develop their curriculum based on the Michigan Curriculum Framework that is developed by the State Board of Education.

The first Northeastern PTO meeting of the 2012-2013 school year will be held on Tuesday, September 11th at 6:30 pm in the Media Center. FREE childcare is available!   We hope to see you there!

Just a reminder to be extra careful when parking to drop off or pick up your students each day.  Please DO NOT park in the area marked off for the school bus drop off area.  During the drop off and pick up times please do not drive into the parking lot on either end.  Our students are instructed not to walk in the parking lot, but they don't always remember.

Each year, we use 5th grade students as safeties to help us keep a safe and secure environment here at Northeastern.  They are used as line leaders, crossing guards, and general help with different areas of our building. They are asked to help other students travel safely to and from school.  We ask that all students show them respect at all times.  Our safeties are a valuable resource for our building.

Please make sure students are dressed appropriately. Restrictions are included in the school hand book located on the "Documents and Forms" link on the left.  If you have specific questions, please feel free to contact Mr. Schils at 948-4421.

The fastest way you can find out about school cancellations and delays is to watch WOOD TV 8 or another local channel or listen to WBCH 100.1 on the radio.
