Hastings Middle School Athletic DepartmentHastings Saxon Athletics "Saxon Pride Begins with You!"The Hastings Middle School Interscholastic Athletic Program is made up of eight sports programs open to all seventh and eighth grade students. At the present time the State of Michigan does not sanction competition at the sixth grade level. Sixth graders are encouraged to participate in the intramural type programs that are offered by various organizations in the community.
Those athletes that take part in the tryouts or programs in Hastings must have a doctor's physical form on file in the principal's office. Physicals are administered for the sixth grade and above in the spring of the school year for both boys and girls at no cost.
All athletes are also required to meet academic requirements throughout the sports seasons. If an athlete does not meet those academic requirements, he/she will not participate in interscholastic competition.
Practices for all Middle School sports are five days a week, Monday through Friday, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. All sports at the Middle School meet the requirements of the Michigan Middle School Athletic Association and are offered to our students to build on the academic programs presently being offered at Hastings Middle School.Upcoming SportsClick here for Online Athletic Calendar (Includes High School and Middle School events)Click here for a PDF version.
