Artworks created by middle school and high school artists are on display in the Hastings Performing Arts Center lobby for the month of December. These art pieces show the work ethic and Saxon Pride of our student artists. We invite the community to stop by and see this display!

The Performing Art Center lobby will be open on the following dates, with doors opening one hour before show time to view the artworks:

Christmas music has been playing on local radio stations for weeks now. But you can't beat the festive cheer that comes with live performance.

The I-8 Conference volleyball awards were announced last night at the banquet, and we are proud to celebrate our outstanding athletes!

Congratulations to Hannah on being named First Team All-Conference and Bella for earning All-Conference Honorable Mention!

And a big round of applause for our academic all-conference honorees: Josalyn, Gabryella, Kyla and Riley. Your hard work on and off the court really paid off! 💛💙

Today, our 8th graders stepped outside the classroom and into the community. Coordinated through the Barry County United Way & Volunteer Center, students and staff spread out across town to rake leaves for residents who needed a hand with this yearly chore.

It was a great day of service, teamwork, and connection. Thanks to all who took part. Saxon pride was on full display!

The final addition to Central Elementary’s new playground is complete and the kids are loving it! The monkey bars, which have been a work in progress, were officially opened late last week, giving our students the chance to climb and play.

Central’s new playground, along with the playgrounds at our other elementary schools, was made possible through our 2023 bond proposal. We’re grateful for the community’s support in helping us create fun, safe spaces for our students to learn and grow through play.

Parents, faculty, and students gathered at the Hastings Performing Arts Center this week to celebrate the new inductees into the National Honor Society.

🦕 Dino-Mite Learning at Star Elementary! 🦕

Star Elementary has been having a lot of fun with this year’s dinosaur theme! Last week, students enjoyed an exciting visit from the Traveling Dinosaur Museum, where they had the chance to get up close and personal with real fossils and explore hands-on exhibits about our Jurassic friends.

A huge thank you goes out to Star's amazing PTO for helping fundraise and make this incredible learning experience possible!

🌽💙 Hastings FFA at the 98th National FFA Convention! 💙🌽

Hastings High School FFA had an incredible time in Indianapolis for the 98th National FFA Convention! Their trip kicked off with stops at the zoo, UNOH, and the Conservatory before heading to Lucas Oil Stadium and the Expo Center for inspiring sessions and an awesome career and collegiate experience.

Our members had a blast meeting students and leaders from across the nation and even caught up with former FFA officer and proud Hastings alumnus Brayden Bies!

Last Friday, our seniors wrapped up College Month with a celebration recognizing all their hard work toward their post-secondary goals! From college visits and application submissions to completing the FAFSA paperwork, our students are making big moves toward their futures.
Six lucky seniors even scored a $50 Visa gift card in our raffle and everyone enjoyed some donuts, cider and fun senior gifts (sunglasses, mints and tactile strips). We’re proud of our Class of 2026! Keep chasing those college dreams!

From superheroes to spooky ghosts, many of our halls were packed with creativity this Halloween! 🎃👻 We loved seeing everyone’s amazing costumes!

Last Friday, our High School Link Crew leaders attended the Student Link Conference at Woodhaven High School.

Leaders from across Michigan came together to learn, grow, and share ideas on how to make a positive impact in their schools and communities. Our Link Crew is a crucial resource to help students make a smooth transition from Middle School to High School. We have a great group! 💙💛

Our High School Trades Block class is busy with some awesome projects this year! 👷‍♂️

One group is building a garage (pictured), while another is tackling a pole barn at a different location. These students are getting hands-on experience with every step of the construction process — and learning what it’s really like to work on a job site. We can’t wait to see how these builds turn out! 🔨🏗️

The Hastings Saxon cross country teams wrapped up their regular season with outstanding performances at the Barry County Championships, held yesterday at Lakewood High School.

The girls’ team earned an impressive second-place finish, led by county champion Caroline. She was followed by Emerson, who placed 7th and earned first team all-county honors, and Chloe, who finished 14th to secure a spot on the second team all-county.

The boys’ team finished fourth overall, highlighted by Caleb’s 13th-place finish, earning him second team all-county recognition.

Several runners capped off their seasons with new personal records, including Emerson, Chloe, Alyssa, Maddie, Brynn, Sucel, Caleb, Josh, and Dakota.

Season-best times were also recorded by Alexa and Lakaya.

Congratulations to all the Saxon runners on a fantastic season! Good luck to Caroline at the state meet!🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️💛💙

After an impressive fourth-place finish at the regional meet held at South Christian High School on Saturday, Caroline has once again qualified for the state meet! She’ll compete this weekend at Michigan International Speedway.
