Varsity Softball

Tuesday night, the Saxons Varsity softball team traveled to Harper Creek to compete in an I-8 game. The Saxons put  Annemarie Allerding in the circle during the first game to start.  Allerding threw 54 pitches, with 22 of them being strikes. The Saxons had a hard time getting the bat going in the first game, but they were able to make some good infield plays. The Saxons were unable to catch up to the Beavers and lost 15-0. In the second game, the Saxons made contact with the ball and put the ball into the field. The Saxons had some great plays during this game, with a fly ball going straight to Kayden Brown, with a catch to also get the runner at 3rd base out.  The Saxons, unfortunately, lost to the Beavers 15-0 in the third inning. The Saxons will be back in action on Thursday at Otsego.

JV Baseball

The JV Saxons Baseball team hosted Harper Creek on Tuesday. Their bats remained hot at the plate collecting 12 hits in the 9-2 victory.

Ethan McCormick, and Elijah Gilbert would lead the team with 3 hits each, Jonah Hamp and Tanner Krzysik would follow with two hits each.

Colin Baker pitched 3 innings for the Saxons with Alex Timmers coming in to close out the game.

The Saxons fell to Harper Creek in game 2 after an unlucky 1st inning. They would try to chip away but were unsuccessful.

The Saxons look to rebound against Otsego this Thursday at home.

JV Softball

JV Softball swept Harper Creek last night 15-0 and 12-2.

In game one, Jordyn Birdsall pitched 3 innings giving up 2 hits and striking out 6. Liv Buehler, Lily McFarlan, Raegan Wattles, Marlayna Young and Sophia Bucher combined for 15 base hits for the Saxon offense.

Game 2 Birdsall again struck out 6 batters, scattering 4 hits over 5 innings in the win. Raegan Wattles had 2 hits. Marlayna Young and Lily McFarlan also had multiple hits and both had inside the park home runs. The Saxons only committed 2 errors on the day.

The JV Saxons are 9-2 and are scheduled to host Olivet on Thursday.
