SNOWBALL

 

Snowball tickets are now on sale during lunch and Mrs. Warner's room before or after school.  Price is $15. Come dance the Night away in Wonderland, Saturday, February 7.  If you want to bring a guest from another school, get your guest form filled out and returned to the office by Friday Feb 6. Guest forms can be picked up at the ticket table at lunch.

 

 

REMINDERS

 

Please be reminded that the drop-off and pick-up lanes are down the hill in front of the school. The upper drive is reserved for emergency vehicles and for dropping off students who may be disabled/injured. Thank you for your help with this!

 

 

 

SENIOR CLASS PARTY-PHHSSP*

 

We will have a table set up in the lunchroom on February 3rd for students to RSVP for the Senior Class Party following graduation.

The cost to RSVP is $10 per student, and we will also be collecting T-shirt sizes at that time.

Thank you for your continued support as we work to make this a memorable celebration for our seniors.

FAFSA

Seniors, are you  planning on college and still need to complete the FAFSA? Now is the time to get it done. Check out the Counseling Department page on the high school website where you will find all the tools you need. And if you have questions? Stop by or contact Mr. Cuffman. He will be glad to assist. Breathe a sigh of relief, and join over 50 of your classmates who have already completed. (2/6)

Seniors, you’ll find abundant resources on the Counseling Department page to help you in your search for scholarships. Check them out today. Don’t miss out on free money for college, and remember, the deadline for your Barry Community Foundation Scholarship application is Feb. 20, 2026. (2/6)


CREDIT RECOVERY

Registration is open for the HHS Credit Recovery program, which runs from January through April. Credit Recovery utilizes the Edgenuity software program online, and is designed for students to recover credit(s) lost in previously failed high school courses. Interested students should pick up a Registration Application from Mrs. Erb in the Counseling Department. Credit Recovery will run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 to 5:15, from Jan. 6 until April 30, located here at the high school in Room D204. Attendance is required. Questions? Girls JV Basketball

The JV Girls Basketball team hosted Harper creek Wednesday night. The Saxons pulled off a huge lead to start the first quarter 16-3. Harper Creek slowly fought their way back to tie it at the end of the 3rd quarter 35-35. Harper Creek had a good press and a strong defense that the Saxons could not get past. The Saxons lost 51-42. Their record is 5-5. Molly McFarlan had a career high in points with 22. She was 1 rebound shy of having her first double-double. Ashtyn Denton then followed with 6 points. Lily Randall led the team in steals. The girls played again Thursday vs. Parma Western.

 

The Hastings girls' basketball team played against Parma Western at home last night. The Saxons fought hard and played with stellar defense. In the end, Parma came out with the W. Cheyenne Smith led the team with 8 points, Lily Larsen and Hadley Grove led the team on defense. The Lady Saxons fought through a hard game last night; shots just weren't falling.

Wrestling

The Boys Varsity wrestling team hosted Pennfield last night in an I-8 dual. The team outscored the Panthers 72-0. Winning matches for the Saxons were Josh Roberts, Hunter Sutfin, Karson Gray, Reyd Zoerman, Isaac Lilley, Liam Renner, Aden Armstrong, Logan Smith, Jace Acker, Quinn Schnerre, Tyce Richardson, Ethan Hetrick, and Angel Mejia-Hernandez. The Saxons move their record to 29-4 on the season.

 

The Girls wrestling team and The boys B Varsity traveled to Bellevue last night and both defeated Bellevue.  Winning for the girls were Riley Furrow, Morgan Casselman, Nani Farell, London Hammond and Abby Frazer.  Winning matches for the boys were Brayden Ward, Donny Smith, Jax Balderson, Kade Case, Reese Hammond and Anthony Hernandez.
