Hastings Area School System Transportation Request Form

Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s),

Please complete this form if you are requesting transportation for your student. The final day to request or change transportation for the 2024-2025 school year is July 15, 2024. Transportation requests made after the deadline cannot be guaranteed for the first day of school and may take up to ten (10) days after school has started to be established. Additionally, requests submitted during the school year can take up to three (3) business days to establish a pick-up/drop-off location.

Only one pick-up and drop-off location is permitted for each student. Exceptions may be made for a Daycare Center or established group stop, at the discretion of the Transportation Office. If the requested stop address is not your home address, please list the responsible person at this location.

Transportation Rules:

  1. No food allowed on the bus.
  2. Riders must sit in their assigned seat.
  3. Stay seated, feet on the floor, your seat in the seat, and your back to the back of the seat.
  4. Inside voices! No yelling or bad language. 
  5. Be nice! No horseplay, keep your hands to yourself.

Please take note of the following information when applying for transportation:

  1. If a Transportation Request form is not received and processed by the Transportation Office, that student is not eligible to ride a school bus. 
  2. The Transportation Office must be contacted if there will be changes made to a student's schedule. 
  3. Only one (1) pick-up and drop-off location is permitted for each student; an exception may be made for a daycare center or established group stop, at the discretion of the Transportation Office. 
  4. If a student does not ride the bus for five (5) consecutive days without notification to the Transportation Office, the student will be removed from the route and a new transportation request form will have to be submitted. 
  5. Students will not be permitted to ride a different bus, for example with a friend, unless a parent/guardian contacts the Transportation Office in advance. 
  6. Please understand that we cannot guarantee every requested stop location can be accommodated. Stop locations are assigned to students based on location, safety, and legality of stops. 

All parents/guardians are invited to use Stopfinder, the all-in-one parent app for school bus route and stop information. Please provide a valid email address to the Transportation Department, and your subscription details will be sent to you via email. More information regarding this can soon be found on www.hassk12.org.
